Prisoners of War
Prisoners of war (POWs) are soldiers, civilians, medical staff and any other person who is captured and imprisoned by an enemy army during a time of war.
Over 22 000 Australian troops were taken as Prisoners of War in World War Two.
This website will discuss and present the causes, effects, individuals and significance of the Australian POWs in the second World War. It will focus on the conditions of living, working and surviving as prisoner of war.
